We served at the Directors of the St. George Visitor's Center and the three historic sites in St. George; namely, the Brigham Young Winter Home, The Jacob Hamlin Home in Santa Clara, and the St. George Tabernacle.
Our mission was a fabulous experience, serving with 13 other Senior couples and 24 young sister missionaries from all parts of the world including Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, France, England, Australia, Mongolia, Germany, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay,Canada and many areas of the U.S. Our Senior Couples served in a different site each day and the young sisters were primarly in the Visitors Center.
One of the surprising elements of our mission were the visits of tourists from France who came to the Temple Visitors Center on buses every week of the tourist season. Some Sundays we had up to 10 French Buses during the day, and in the tourist season we averaged between 5,000 and 8,000 French visitors.
During our mission we learned how much the Lord loves His missionaries and we marvelled at the "little miracles" that occurred every day of our mission.
Last week we enjoyed our first annual reunion in St. George with our Senior couples. Seventy of the ninety seniors we worked with came and we had a wonderful time looking back on the blessings of our mission.
