Relation to Uncle Bud: Great-great nephew from the Henry D. Taylor branch
Daniel is the son of Bradford and Ann Taylor. A couple things that were special about Daniel's mission call:
He was called to serve in the same BC territory that his Grandfather Henry D. Taylor Jr. served in back in the 1950's, even serving in some of the same towns such as Nanaimo. Also, his Grandmother Colette Green Taylor is born and raised in Western Canada (Lethbridge, Alberta).
About the same time that Dan received his call, his cousin and BYU room-mate, Anders Taylor, was called to serve "right next door" in Alberta, Canada. Together they covered nearly all the old Grandpa Taylor territory!
Dan was a friendly, hard-working and fun-loving missionary. He embraced many Canadian "cultural" interests along the way, such as hockey, street hockey, native indian "sweats", and preaching to "tree-huggers" (hippies permanently living in tree houses). His area spanned from Victoria all the way up to Alaska and the Yukon Territory. He served with honor and was able to teach, serve and baptize. He learned to love the people of Canada. Dan has now graduated from BYU and is married to Laura Halsey (a returned missionary who served in the California, Santa Rosa Spanish Mission). They live in Plymouth Minnesota.
